Ive got an idea for you, im a wire noob so if it sounds impossible dont mind hehewell It would be pretty cool if it had thrusters and it whas a plane (or E2 instead of thrusters) and make it attack using that, like making an attack run, flying a bit away turning around for another attack run
and even make it auto land![]()
Nice work here. I like your method of the separate E2 modules; I do that occassionally, but then I wimp out and end up combining them into one chip for some reason.
The subsystems have a lot of potential. I would highly recommend getting rid of the target finder though if you're going for high-speed tracking. I find that they're very slow to switch targets and acquire new ones when they're supposed to.
You might consider making a version out of vanilla ( default ) props. It would net you big points for style, and it would probably look better anyways.
Ok, sorry for not posting here in a while, but I've been busy lately (moving into college, etc.)
I am rather new here, but I really don't understand why nobody seems to like hoverballs. If it's because they're "unrealistic", I'm not sure what to say. I mean, Gmod lets us magically weld things together without actually going across the entire seam of the joint, or it allows us to change the physical and chemical properties of objects at will. I'm used to programming robotics and embedded systems which, you know, have to obey the laws of physics. I thought, hell, why wouldn't I use this.
I tried several thruster-based anti-grav systems, and I couldn't really get them to respond as well as the hoverball one did.
As for speed and weapons, I was sort of modeling this thing off the real MQ-9 Reaper. The reaper does not move very fast at all, as it is propeller-driven. It relies on the speed and accuracy of it's weapons (GBU-12 Paveway-2 and AGM-114 Hellfire) to destroy targets. I'm also working on some more exotic weapons (think bees).
I'll post some screenshots later when I have more time to do so.

So, here is the latest update, in video form:
Let me know what you think.

I really like the idea of the attachable weapons/equipment. It seems to travel/aim a bit slow. You should add a movable turret so that the entire thing does not need to line up at the right distance to shoot. If you can remove the hoverballs, you will have a lot more control over the craft, but it is a bit more technical, I think its worth it.

The plan is to make one of those weapon "pods" a fully articulated turret. I'm just not exactly sure how I can smoothly pass the targeting data from the Targeting E2 to the Fire Control E2 to the actual weapons' E2 chip.
And I have tried several experiments with different sorts of thrusters, and so far most have either not worked or have completely destroyed the drone in the process. I will probably end up having to do something like Lyinginbedmon's Vector-Triads.
