Cool Revan's Expression Gate 2 Guide

I decided that the E2 needed to be better documented, and since I no longer posses the time to create video tutorials, I decided to write up a text documentation of basic E2 functionality. I will be adding more examples and activities to the guide in the future, so don't worry if you don't understand things yet, there will be more examples and ways to absorb the material in the future. I will also be creating other guides on more advanced E2 functionality in the future.

    Revan's Expression Gate 2 Gui...

    Parts 2 & 3:
    Revan's Expression Gate 2 Gui...
    Revan's Expression Gate 2 Gui...

    EDIT:

I'm now organizing all my tutorials onto a single page that allows for easy transitions between categories, so now all three expression guides I've done as well as the videos for it will be listed there. Assuming that the website is up (and it may not always be), I advise using it to navigate.

Looks like a very good tutorial. Nice work!

    Some small nitpicks, though:
The plural of parenthesis is parentheses.
You left out Not in your treatment of boolean operators.

    Good calls, edits made.

Very very good tutorial, it covers everything in a way that even a noob should understand.

    The cake is a lie.
    No really.

I'm now working on parts 2 and 3 of my guide, the intermediate level functionality, which I split into commonly used and uncommonly used functionality guides. The guides at the moment have brief descriptions of each of the items I will list in a moment, however due to the small size of the content, I will probably not publish the documents until I have added some examples/labs. In other words, expect both parts by the end of next week.

Commonly used functionality guide functionality list:
    • Chat extension
    • Built-In Ranger
    • Sound Playback
    • 3D Holograms
    • File Functions
    • Apply Force
Uncommonly used functionality guide functionality list:
    • Complex Numbers & Quaternions
    • The For Loop
    • Break & Continue
    • The While Loop
    • Arrays & Tables
    • GLON
    • Bones

Documentation that I have not started on and will likely be a part of the advanced guide which is to follow will include:
    • Entity discovery
    • Wirelink
    • Global Variables
    • Signals
    • NPC Control
While I know that not everything on this list is 'advanced' in terms of learning it, the cases in which I predict they would be used are more advanced than the norm.

Some things may be added to any of the documents or rearranged, but this is the currently planned layout.

PS: I've updated the first guide to include 3 appendices which should prove quite helpful.

    As always, feedback is welcome.

Great Guide, looking forward to the next part.

One small nitpick though. I think you should make it more clear in your first guide that ~ (has changed) will only be true if the current cycle was triggered by the value changing. I think new people get confused by this (I know I did) when you describe it as meaning "has changed" instead of say "triggered execution" or something.

I was actually unaware of that even being the operator's literal meaning... has changed has always just been how it's described... since E1. I'll run some tests to confirm you're correct and make appropriate changes.

So I said I'd have some more content by now, and I've basically moved on, anyway, I'm going to put up the links to the two incomplete guides I was working on.. the content isn't poorly documented, I just didn't get around to all of the things I would've liked or added many examples of usage... anyway... enjoy.

    Revan's Expression Gate 2 Gui...

I'll likely finish both documents in the future, I'll let you all know if I ever do.

Dude, you're freaking amazing. I've been a really good wirer for a while, but i never understood e2 at all. Since I read your first guide I've barely used any gates besides e2 at all. If I ever make an e2 tutorial on my youtube account I'm gonna tell everyone to read your guides.
