In order to use the data store you must have a transmitter, the send input on the transmitter tells it whether to read or write to the data store, if 1 then it will write, if 0 then it will not.

Thanks for that guys, got it working now
Just 1 small (I hope) request....I generally like to create large dishes consisting of many parts, so wondered if it'd be possible to turn not just a single prop into a satellite dish with the reload/right-click thing, but a group of them/entire contraption? So for instance the user could create a huge realistic-looking dish consisting of many props, turn them into a single entity in the usual way, then use the satellite dish tool to spawn the whole thing as a working dish? I ask because it doesn't seem possible to use stacker on an individual prop-dish and using duplicator + rotate tool for this is quite time-consuming.
Anyway, regardless of this, it's still a great set of tools and a welcome addition to Wire![]()
Maybe, but I doubt it. What do you mean by "Turn them into a single entity in the usual way." ?
most likely not as the right click thing doesnt copy the ent it just steals its model. However you can link severral dishes to one transferer(may get odd results if you sent to 2 at once.)
So just make the inside of your dish from sattellite dishes then link them all to one transferer. Also it doesnt stack as stacker only stacks prop_phys (found this out when i wanted to stack tiberium refinarys)

Yeah, so far I've managed to create successful systems consisting of several linked dishes to a single transferrer, but what I'm asking is a for a way to accelerate the building process because at the moment you need to manually place each dish, there's no way, AFAIK, to automate the copying/placement of them. Isn't much fun trying to create huge multi-part dish, especially if you want something looking shapely and not just giant square....most likely not as the right click thing doesnt copy the ent it just steals its model. However you can link severral dishes to one transferer(may get odd results if you sent to 2 at once.)

i cant help the stacker does not work on sents and i cant merge several models into 1. As how would i take several props and turn it into 1 model for the sattellite dish ent?

The problem seems to be duplicator refusing to treat SEnts like props. So if you tried welding 2 dishes together and doing the right-click thing, duplicator will only let you spawn 1 and not the 2.![]()
hmm dident know about that?
that is again garry as he is responsible for the normal dupe and the adv dupe can only do what the normal one does.

Strange, it's started working now, only thing that's different is I'm on flatgrass map instead of freespace06...hmm dident know about that?
