Okay, I'm not a WM Developer (yet :P), but I wanna post this:
A while ago Black_Phoenix told me about project Sapphire, and what it is.
It's used for storing/receiving data from a central server over the internet (kind of persistent RAM chip). So, I happened to make the thing using a protocol me and BP developed.
Feature List:
Video: (sorry for bad quality)
- Account System
- Log in from any wire-enabled GMod with Sapphire gate/DLL
- Simultaneous sessions (Able to send/receive data at the same time others do, so chat program anyone?)
- Up to 256.000 values (256 kB ).
- Unlimited amount of accounts
http://youtube.com/watch?v=IGW1lXLs4ggWe need a central server hoster, with at least 256 MB of RAM (in case all the users are logged on at once, caching-enabled), 256 MB of disk space. (CPU load is 0% when nobody is connected.)
SVN Repository: https://projectsapphire.svn.sourcefo...rojectsapphire
NOTE: This only contains SOURCE CODE, unless you don't know how to compile a C program, stay away from this please.
---
Planned: Sapphire V2.0
After gathering some ideas, I want to make a v2.0 which has some nice new features:
- Script Execution on other PC. (So server A sends lua script to server B, server B sends results of script to server A.) The speed increasing will of course depend on the bandwidth/location of the Sapphire server and the other server.
- Compression of data.
- More to come.

This is cool, we can have WireNet over many servers.
Sounds realy interesting. I'm looking forward to seeing it out and working.
My IQ is 156 - Free-IQTest.net - Quick Free IQ Test
As of yet, I have two potential server hosters!

I could host as I've got a PC that I use for TV recording and XMPP, but its a residential connection with insanely bad upload bandwidth.
So we could have an internet game have... internet?
That's pretty insane.
