Yes, and you can wire them up to a switch/button/input and use them correctly, I know, my latest ship uses it.

It doesn't work if you dupe it with the weld latches activated. I think it is because adv dupe copies the weld constraint that it makes while active.

But when you paste it and deactivate the latch, it should remove the weld.

id like to report this bug also,
    and it shoudl be confirmed.
if u dup / adv dup it whilst the weld latchs are activated, when you paste it, either with regualr dup or adv dup it treats the welds are normal prop ot prop welds and wont be remoed no matter the state of the weld-latch controller.

This seems to be working fine now. Note that this might be a bug with the latch itself, I have had instances where I could not deactivate a weld to world, when the latch was removed.

Possibly, the weld is being placed before the latch, causing this.

    On behalf of a friend:

[Nod-Bh] Kickasskyle: I cant get on to mine atm, and i want to post a thread in support about the damn Latch welds.

[Nod-Bh] Kickasskyle: There are two main problems.

[Nod-Bh] Kickasskyle: -Sticking on "activated" when they're duped.

    [Nod-Bh] Kickasskyle: and

[Nod-Bh] Kickasskyle: -The weld not being removed when you remove the controller.

[Nod-Bh] Kickasskyle: because they are pissing me off so much.

[Nod-Bh] Kickasskyle: i have tried the one method for getting latches to survive the dupe which is Tying them to 0 Inputs.

    More:

-seems to be random if latches "stick"

-every time it stuck Regardless of if it had a 1 or 0 input.

-Tried on 2 other servers and SP, still
    did it

    - It seems it happen when the Latch is linked to a Gate

Can't confirm this. Activated weld latch duped fine, and it worked as it should when pasting contraption next time.
