it is fixable but its a complicated piece of coding that i don't understand but maby another dev can fix it.
I don't know how the Grabber's Beam (drawn beam) differs from the Ranger's beam....But the Ranger's beam can be seen any time. The Grabber's beam, however, can only be seen when the grabber is in sight. Let me demonstrate with pictures.
In the first picture, both models (for the grabber and the ranger) can be seen. Both beams are being drawn at this point. In the second picture, neither of the models can be seen. The ranger continues to draw its beam, but the grabber's beam cannot be seen.
I don't know if it's fixable, but it would be nice to have fixed.

By the way, this "problem" also happens with every beamcaster (colorer, igniter, etc...) except the forcer.Can you fix them too ?

i want an option to make it so the grabbers beam is never visible in the first place.... the forcer has that option, jeez...
Also, i want a more broad range grabber... one with a cone in which it can grab things, and it pulls them in towards the grabber when it finds the things.... like a gravity gun, instead of like the physgun...... that would make it MUCH easier for me to make my industrial-scale gravity gun...

ok beam toggling maby as thats not to bad. But cone finding? as far as i know the only way to search in a cone is to trace every point in the circle that forms the base of the cone. That means several thousand traces. It would probably kill a sever.
